Happy Valentine’s Day to our loved ones around the world!

We love celebrating love, and every celebration for us is a great excuse to experiment with our style. This year we decided to focus on the color Red, as it is the ultimate color of romance and passion. Here are some of our tips for a red hot Valentine’s outfit.

DSC_75004

When looking for a dress for a big occasion the first thing we look for is the right cut. The most important thing about a party dress is that it suits your figure and that you feel your best in it. If you’re not sure what cut suits you the best, go for a shape that flaunts the best parts of your body, what you are most confident about. Rony has a very feminine figure and a small waist so she went for the princess cut- This cut keeps everything cinched in and put together while flaunting Rony’s figure.

We like to dress understatedly sexy, there’s a fine line between seductress and trash. Rony decided to show a bit of skin in the back and kept the rest of the dress covered, yet form fitting.

IMG_83141
Choosing the right fabric is as important as the cut of the dress.

Accessorizing : Rony’s dress was so attention grabbing, she decided to keep the rest of her outfit solid and classy. She wore drop rhinestones earrings that complimented the retro style of the dress, sheer black tights and black nail polish, and black high heeled pumps.

Now that we are fully addicted to the wonderful world of online shopping, we wanted to share with you an online store we particularly love: (Shop at your own discretion, you might get obsessed!!) Gusta.

We don’t know about winter where you are but in Israel the weather gets pretty fickle, sometimes very cold and rainy and sometimes sunny; temperatures can change drastically, especially when going from indoors to outdoors. For all these reasons, layering is a must, with certain basic staple items that can go from day to evening, from the office to the gym.

We recently discovered Gusta’s basic tanks, %100 organic cotton, with the kind of fabric and slouchy cut that make your body feel really good. Needless to say they are now a must in our closets.

IMG_3055

Here are some ideas on how to make your favorite tank a basic part of every outfit:

Day to Day:

IMG_31091 IMG_31141 IMG_31171 IMG_31181
Layer a loose tank over a shirt dress for a look that is classy yet effortless. Sheer tights and booties with a bit of heel add an extra flair of girliness. Knit hats are the perfect cold weather accessory!

Office:

IMG_31241 IMG_31281 IMG_31301

Wearing a classic cut tank tucked into a pencil skirt with a tailored jacket makes for a chic and classy office look that is still comfortable and not too dressy.

Gym:

IMG_31441 IMG_31411 IMG_31031
Sweating it out at the gym is the best way of getting rid of the day’s stress, but that does not mean we can’t look fabulous! While comfort is top priority, we like to make our workout look more interesting by adding bold colors.

Evening:

IMG_31331 IMG_31351 IMG_31381 IMG_31371
Tucking your tank top into skinny pants with an edgy jacket makes for a cool and sexy evening look. Maroon is always in style in the cold seasons, wear it on your lips, in your clothes and in your underwear! Want to know where we got these pants? Find out here!

One of the great perks of ordering from Gusta’s online store is that the clothes arrive in a fabulous fabric tote with a graphic design we loved!

The big question on everyone’s lips is how to look fashionable and trendy at the office while staying office-appropriate.
We put together some of our favorite office-cool outfits with our must-have staple item: A patterned button-down.

IMG_27072

Rony wore a patterned button-down shirt with a tweed skirt, green patent bag, red patent mary janes, and a multicolored statement necklace.

IMG_27411 IMG_27451 IMG_27531
The secret to successfully mixing prints is all about the colors: Mix prints with similar shades of a certain color or with complimentary colors. This will allow the prints to go well together and not clash.

IMG_27541

Vera wore a sheer snakeskin print button down shirt over a tank top with a high waisted skater skirt, thin studded belt, patent leather moccasins, patent leather bag, and sheer tights.

IMG_27631 IMG_27661 IMG_27701

If you wear a sheer top to the office make sure to wear it with a top underneath; you want people to be talking to your face, not your bra.

IMG_27721

The bold print of Vera’s top is best worn with classy solid pieces on the bottom so as not to look too flashy.

The accessories are where you can get really creative, mix colors and add bold pieces.

IMG_27571 IMG_27751

Our suggestion is to wear comfortable shoes and not go crazy with the heels; you don’t want to be limping by the end of the work day!

This photo shoot took place in Caesaria, a city with heritage that dates back to the Roman Empire, with an archeological site and ruins to prove it. With its gorgeous Mediterranean beaches, elegant restaurants, mix of tourists, locals and fishermen and beautiful traditional architecture, this city is a mix of old and new, raw and chic.
What could be better suited to this laid back, yet chic attitude than lace?

IMG_24251

Vera wore a hand-knitted lace dress over a tank top and denim shorts. She accessorized with golden toed flats, vintage cream bag, and a gold chain necklace.

Vera layered her knit dress over understated items for a cool casual look. Her dress could also be worn over a bikini for a very luxe beach look.

Rony accessorized her dress with lots of gold and metallic touches for a cool evening look and added the scarf hair accessory for an extra boost of glam.

Tomorrow Israel celebrates its 66th Independence Day, and we of course celebrate in style.

IMG_73011This year, as in every Independence Day celebration, we like to dress in blue and white, the colors of the Israeli flag. Not only is this a sign of our patriotism and love for our country, but also happen to be classy colors you can’t go wrong with!

Here’s what we’re wearing this holiday:

Rony is wearing a blue dress with white espadrilles, white cuffs and white earrings.

IMG_26361IMG_26373

Vera is wearing a black and blue patterned frock with strappy wedges and an oversized silver necklace.

Now that Vera is a mommy (what a MILF), we’ve been getting very nostalgic about our childhoods and how our mothers used to be, and how they used to dress. We love digging up old photos of our mothers and seeing how glamorous and stylish they were, and still are today.

Since we were born in the eighties, we decided to do a post inspired by eighties fashion, and how it can be relevant today.

IMG_16392

IMG_16412

Rony wore a vintage velvet and leather top with pleather leggings, peep toe wedges, a turban, and piled on the jewelry.

IMG_16151

IMG_16421 IMG_16481 IMG_16501 IMG_16811 IMG_16831 IMG_16841 IMG_16861

Rony’s look is very bold and fierce so to keep it from looking too over the top she added some oriental inspired touches, like the turban and the hand-made coral bracelet she got in Thailand.

IMG_16921 IMG_16941 IMG_16951

IMG_17151

Good styling is all about proportions. The big broad shoulders and masculine cut of Rony’s top goes best with a skinny proportion on the bottom. Adding a waist cinching belt gives the top a feminine, sexy touch.

IMG_16962

Vera wore a colorful print sweater, patterned hip hugging skirt, patterned tights, leather moccasins, and oversized earrings.

IMG_16712IMG_16741 IMG_16751 IMG_16761IMG_16791

Next time, instead of wearing plain black tights mix it up with patterned ones to make the outfit more bold, interesting, and fun.

IMG_17091 IMG_17061 IMG_17081 IMG_17121

In case you hadn’t noticed, Vera’s post baby makeover included a fabulous new haircut, which actually suited our 80’s theme perfectly!

IMG_17031

Our outfits included items that we so happily inherited from our mothers’ wardrobes: Vera’s statement earrings and Rony’s bold top.

A revised version of bingo helps you plan your outfits!

Transitioning to a new season is always tough, especially for people who live and breathe fashion. New seasons mean new trends to keep up with, new items of clothing to invest in, and new outfits to plan; It can get pretty overwhelming. Luckily, BooHoo.com has come up with a little game of Wardrobe Bingo to help with all that hard work.

It might seem like bingo has no place in the fashion world, being the drab, boring game that senior citizens play in stuffy bingo halls, but the game seems to have sprouted a sense of fashion in recent years. Not only have the most fashionable people of the world started to take up the game (case in point Kate Moss and Catherine Zeta-Jones, unashamed lovers of bingo), but the game itself has started blooming into a colorful experience.

Kate-Moss-2276435

Has notorious bad girl fashionista Kate Moss traded in her wild ways for bingo?RB shots for UK website 640 5

Not your average game of bingo at RebelBingo.com

No longer confined to calling out numbers in boxes, bingo has also seen powerups in the form of Greek, Roman and Egyptian gods in Bingogodz, and wild bingo competitions in Rebel Bingo. BooHoo.com has taken bingo further into the fashion world by creating a simple game that allows the stylish to make full use of their bursting wardrobes.

Screenshot 2014-02-09 14

The principles of Wardrobe Bingo are simple: gather five items that fall under the following categories: tops, bottoms, shoes, and accessories, and label each item with a number from 1-5. Participants then pick a random number for each category, put on all the corresponding clothing items, and take a photo of the final outfit.

As spring approaches, now is the perfect time to start looking for some of the key pieces that will make up your wardrobe. A quick edit through BooHoo.com’s Wardrobe Bingo can help you plan what items of clothing to invest in next, especially when working on a budget. To play, grab a bingo card template off the internet (or create one yourself — just a 5×5 grid on a piece of cardboard), and mark each row as Tops, Bottoms, Shoes and Accessories, and each column with a number from 1-5. In each box, take down a key Spring 2014 trend that corresponds to the clothing group.

Here are some of our favorite trends to rock this season, courtesy of Elle.com:

For tops, off the shoulder shirts and dresses are all the rage this coming season.

Color: Orange is the new black, and pinks are perfect for spring.

We love fierce and lavish gem embellishments.

Metallics make a strong statement.

Metallic from head to toe at Tory Burch.

Board shorts are effortless and chic.

XL_1200x800_05-lgn

For shoes:

Curved heels are the newest rage in shoe trends.

elle-01-curved-heels-walter-steiger-floral-pump-v-xln

Walter Steiger printed curved heel pumps.

Pumps and high heels worn with socks. This trend is fun and bold, don’t be afraid to mix colors!

elle-perfect-pairs-socks-opener-h-xln
Mules (that’s right, the mules are making a serious comeback this spring), and for comfort look to skater shoes, as seen on uber fashionista Jourdan Dunn.

elle-skate-shoes-opener-joan-smalls-v-xln

For accessories, our favorites of the spring collections were the big, bold, colorful, and DIY-inspired pieces.

elle-nyfw-spring-2013-trends-orange-is-the-new-black-prabal-gurung-lip-1-xln-xln

Funky sunglasses at Prabal Gurung.

Now before you go out on a shopping spree, roll the dice for each clothing group, and take note of the corresponding trend. For example, rolling a 3 for bottoms means you’re going out on a quest to find the perfect board shorts, and a 5 for accessories will send you on a lookout for bright gems. When you roll a 6, pick out your trend of choice from the list.

Happy Winter fashionistas!

Flowers in the forest

The mini? the maxi? what skirt length will it be this winter? We vote Midi! Midi is the perfect length to keep covered up, but not all the way: not too revealing and not too concealing; perfect for every occasion, from office to dinner party, and flattering on every figure! The great thing about the midi is its versatility, it all depends on how you wear it!

In case you’re not yet convinced, this skirt was the star of the hottest winter collections and was seen on the most fabulous fashionistas!

Winter Fashions

Vera’s tight denim pencil skirt was form fitting to create feminine curves so she set it off with an oversized masculine cut sweater over a long top. Vera completed her outfit with striped tights, cowboy boots, flower print scarf, long coat and a cap.

Cowboy bootsVera’s look was feminine and edgy but at the same time comfortable. The vintage sweater was one of her picks from the fashion fundraiser sale we organized a couple weeks ago.

Rony put her A-lined midi together with the biggest trend of the year, peplum. She wore a red midi skirt with a lace peplum blouse over a button down shirt. She wore high heeled leather boots, a flower print scarf, felt and leather oversized coat, and an oversized canvas bag.

Both of our handmade vintage scarves were given to us by our grandmothers as a souvenir from their Russian ancestry, we love them!

Another one of our cold weather favorites is layering: pile on the tights, skirts, tops, knits, coats scarves and hats to create a warm and chic look.

Winter layers

There’s nothing more romantic than a stroll through the woods after a rainstorm, the forest looks almost magical like a place out of fairy tales.

Hello fashion darlings!

When considering what to wear for a day in the office there are so many considerations; indoor and outdoor weather, comfort, what kind of job you have, how your co-workers dress and so on.
The “easy” solution will always be trousers and a blouse, but what kind?
There are so many options for that combination alone that you could be standing dumbfounded in front of your closet for hours!

For this post we’re making the “easy” easier!
First step is deciding what kind of mood you are in and what impression you want to leave on your co-workers: If you’re feeling bold and want everyone to notice wear something bright and colorful!
If you’re going for the young and fresh look yet want to look like a professional, keep it a solid mix
If you’re feeling sexy but still want to have everyone’s respect- a sheer top will do the job! (with a top worn underneath of course!)

For a casual office look Rony wore blue skinny jeans, a sheer blouse, fitted vest, oxfords and an army green canvas bag. Rony accessorized with lots of silver jewelry to keep it interesting yet clean and practical.

The mix of the different items and the mix of feminine with masculine make this a casual office look that is young and natural.

Vera had a day full of important meetings and wanted to make a lasting impression on her co-workers and clients. For her elegant office look Vera wore a black chiffon set of trousers and blouse, red patent flats, an eye catching statement gold necklace and of course her signature haute geek glasses.

While the black set is masculine and stern, the sheer fabric makes it more soft and feminine.

No matter where you work and what you do it’s a proven fact that dressing nicely to work makes your day all the more fabulous! Or at least we believe so!

Have a very productive day!

Be our friend on facebook!

Last week I went on a weeklong excursion to London to explore the rainy city post-Olympics, as well as  do some shopping as London is home to some of my (and Vera’s) favorite shopping destinations! Here are some of my favorite attractions in the city, best places to shop and of course, what I wore!

Favorite shopping areas:

Soho – Soho, particularly around Carnaby Street, has some amazing stores which I loved not only for the merchandise but also for how it is displayed and how the stores are designed.

Benefit’s store, designed like a sweets diner, is too sweet to skip out on!

Some other favorites were Dahlia, which had a gorgeous mix of girly with London punk, Fornarina, whose store had an amazing liquid staircase, and Lazy Oaf, which displayed sunglasses on skull lamps.

Notting Hill – This neighborhood has shopping destinations which offer very unique pieces. From the famous Portobello Road market on Sundays to vintage shops that sell amazing treasures, this is a great destination for one of a kind items.

Primark – Vera and my guilty pleasure, this store sells the trendiest clothes, shoes, bags and accessories for ridiculous prices. The biggest one in town is located on Oxford Street; our advice is to get there as the store opens, it gets really busy and crowded very early and the lines to the fitting rooms get impossibly long. As you can see, my friends and I went a little crazy!

Camden – This northern London neighborhood is home to a multitude of markets, thrift and vintage stores that offer trendy and unique items for very good prices. Camden is known for its goth population and punky bars, so here you’re sure to encounter crazy platforms and spikes on everything.

Art for the Soul:
The amazing thing about London is its museums are free, except for some temporary exhibits, so it’s absolutely a must to visit and see what’s on.

I love visiting the Victoria and Albert Museum every time I’m in town, it has extensive art collections and impressive architecture.

Now on display is a very cool Ball gowns exhibit showing gowns from the 19th century throughout the ages, and contemporary gowns by some amazing and influential designers.

Another very cool exhibit currently on display at the V&A: innovations in furniture. My favorite piece was a chair made by fashion designer Issey Miyake from leftover fabric rolls from his garment designs.

Exhibition Road, on which the V&A Museum is located, is now hosting an outdoor sculpture exhibition featuring works by acclaimed British sculptor Tony Cragg. It was very interesting to see how the crowds interacted with the artwork.

The Tate Modern always showcases amazing pieces by the most influential contemporary artists; Now on display is a special exhibit by British artist Damien Hirst. Some of my favorites at the museum were a sculpture by Marisa Merz which, although it was constructed out of aluminum plates, is somehow so organic and “alive” and reminded me of floating sea creatures.

Other works that I particularly liked were pieces that incorporated video art and installation to create unique thought-provoking effects.

The British Museum is a must-visit even just for its architecture. The museum’s inner court roof was designed by Foster and Partners in 2000 and is absolutely awe-inspiring not just in itself but in the dialogue it creates between old and new architecture and in the beautiful natural lighting that is created in the space.

Favorite unexpected event
Notting Hill Carnival took place on the weekend of August 25th; the event was like one huge street party that included dancing, music, African drums and a very festive parade. The beer was cheap and the atmosphere was jolly!

What I Wore
“Chic Tourist” outfit – For travelling to any urban destination around the world, my motto is to keep it comfortable but never neglect the chic! I wore stretch skinny jeans, a light loose blouse and a jacket in case it got chilly. I wore moccasins which are very comfortable to walk in all day, but are also chic and classy. I kept it interesting by accessorizing with a pearl bib necklace and pink lipstick.

Day to Evening outfit – When exploring around a big city all day you must be prepared for anything. The best idea is to wear an outfit you can transform from day casual to a more evening look. I wore a high waisted black skirt with a loose green blouse, opaque tights, and moccasins. I made the outfit cool for day or night by wearing a print scarf and a rope and gold necklace.

For drinks on a chilly evening I added a fur vest.

Rainy Day outfit – Even in August London is very rainy and at times chilly; the best idea is to wear layers you can take off when going indoors or on the underground, and put back on when strolling outside. I wore a loose long sleeved T-shirt with a print skirt, tights and leather booties. I piled on the layers with my fur vest and warm jacket.

Vera’s favorite London outfit- Vera worked her layered look in layered tops, striped knit cardigan, miniskirt worn with tights, leather booties, scarf, and layered necklaces.

Don’t forget to take your camera and an umbrella!
