Happy Valentine’s Day to our loved ones around the world!

We love celebrating love, and every celebration for us is a great excuse to experiment with our style. This year we decided to focus on the color Red, as it is the ultimate color of romance and passion. Here are some of our tips for a red hot Valentine’s outfit.

When looking for a dress for a big occasion the first thing we look for is the right cut. The most important thing about a party dress is that it suits your figure and that you feel your best in it. If you’re not sure what cut suits you the best, go for a shape that flaunts the best parts of your body, what you are most confident about. Rony has a very feminine figure and a small waist so she went for the princess cut- This cut keeps everything cinched in and put together while flaunting Rony’s figure.

We like to dress understatedly sexy, there’s a fine line between seductress and trash. Rony decided to show a bit of skin in the back and kept the rest of the dress covered, yet form fitting.

Choosing the right fabric is as important as the cut of the dress.

Accessorizing : Rony’s dress was so attention grabbing, she decided to keep the rest of her outfit solid and classy. She wore drop rhinestones earrings that complimented the retro style of the dress, sheer black tights and black nail polish, and black high heeled pumps.

We’ve been nominated for blogging awards before and never really did anything to participate (don’t hate us!), but this time we were nominated by a blogger we particularly love, the adorable and fabulous Vivian of atouchofvivian, and we just couldn’t resist.

100_33262

Here are Vivian’s questions for us:
When and why did you start blogging?

We started blogging in february 2012, in our senior year of university, after having shared design and fashion ideas with each other for so many years.
We both had so many ideas we wanted to express and share with the world and decided to do that together.

What do you love most about blogging?

We love getting fashion inspiration from interesting people around the world and the amazing feedback we get from our awesome readers! There’s nothing better after all the hard work we put into making our blog interesting.

What’s the story behind the name of your blog?

We were inseparable in university and everyone always used to make fun of us for wearing matching outfits. The funniest thing about it though, was that we did it unintentionally! We just have style telepathy and therefore decided to name our blog “what we wear”.
The url whatwewear was already taken so we had to settle for “Watt”, which is Vera’s last name. So clever, we know 😉

What type of camera do you use for your blog?

We use a Canon Powershot SX 40 HS, which is a good quality camera and certainly good enough for us. We also use a professional tripod so we rarely use photographers. The tripod is like the third lady on our blog, it’s present at all our photo shoots; although we sometimes look a bit silly posing with the timer 🙂

Where do you find inspiration for your blog posts?

Inspiration is everywhere, in fashion magazines, in movies, in shops, but mostly we are inspired by street styles and by other bloggers.

Who is your fashion inspiration?

We can’t say that we have a single fashion inspiration because we love to combine different looks rather than stick to one style. Some very fashionable women whose styles we love are Olivia Palermo, Anna Dello Russo, Miroslava Duma, and Solange Knowles.

What is your fashion statement?

Dare to wear!

What is your current fashion obsession?

Our current fashion obsession is midi skirts, they are so feminine and ladylike and we love that they are making such a huge comeback. In fact, they’ll be featured on our next post!

What are three things you can’t live without?

Fashionably speaking, mascara, a hot pair of heels and chic dresses. Practically speaking, our families and loved ones are the only thing we absolutely cannot live without.

What is your biggest fashion regret?

We don’t believe in fashion regrets! If you think something is wearable then go for it!

Where do you see the future of your blog going?

Hopefully expanding, working with more designers. We’d love to showcase more of our favorite local talents, as well as work with designers from around the world. And who knows, maybe one day we’ll have our own column in a fabulous fashion magazine!

As per the rules of the blogging awards, we are supposed to nominate 11 other bloggers. We thought it wouldn’t be fair to play a popularity contest and chose only 11 bloggers, especially because there are hundreds who we love and feel inspired by! So we nominate all of you wonderful readers and wish you lots of success and fun on all your blogs!

Thanks again for all your love and support, and thank you Vivian for actually getting us to participate in this 🙂

Being the busy, hard working girls we are, we appreciate every second of leisure that we get. Weekends are almost a holy practice to us; we like to take advantage of our weekends by spending time with our loved ones, stocking up on inspiration in museums and exhibits and in the theater, and traveling in Israel and abroad.
As you know, we don’t like to ever compromise our style, but that doesn’t mean we have to compromise our comfort. So what does weekend wear mean for us, you ask?

Vera wore a flannel shirt with a high waisted peach puffy skirt, knit cardigan, patterned tights, cowboy boots, and ray ban glasses.

IMG_17481 IMG_17721

What’s better weekend wear than flannel? make it more stylish by mixing colors and put it together with more feminine pieces, like Vera’s puffy skirt.

Rony wore a burgundy sweater over a green dress with a patterned scarf, patterned tights, knee-high boots, and a men’s fedora.

No one said that travel wear has to be boring, make it interesting by mixing vibrant colors and patterns in your clothes and accessories.

IMG_17222

Every outfit has a story: The flannel shirt Vera is wearing is actually a men’s shirt. Vera got her boots on sale in Eilat, a tourist favorite.

IMG_17911

Rony’s tights are from a cool boutique in Jaffa’s flea market, one of our favorite weekend destinations. Her hat is a traditional fedora she got in Ecuador.

IMG_18051

Layering is always a great tip for travel, the layers allow you to be prepared for any weather and any activity.

IMG_17321

The most important item, however, are the shoes. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes so that you can really enjoy your weekend excursions.

Traveling in Israel? Here are some of our favorite destinations and travel recommendations:
Beautiful Rosh Hanikra, Acre, Alexander River, Golan Heights, Ramon Crater in the desert.

If you’re exploring Tel Aviv, here are some must-visit destinations:

If you’re here before June 2014, check out this must see street art exhibit. If it’s shopping you’re after, check out Kikar Hamedina.

Have a wonderful rest of the week everyone!

Affordable fashion is everything that this blog stands for! Being chic and wearing the latest styles and trends doesn’t necessarily mean you have to max out your credit card.

Affordable retailers are getting increasingly popular around the world, and more and more designers are realizing their market appeal and collaborate with these retailers on ready to wear collections: Alber Elbaz and Donatella Versace for H&M, Jason Wu for Target, Mary Katrantzou for Topshop, etc.

Even red carpet fashion is changing in this direction and more and more celebrities dare to wear affordable dresses to big Hollywood events. Nicole Richie, for example, wore a gorgeous Topshop dress to the 2013 MET Gala.

We love browsing through thrift shops and flea markets for bargains, Sometimes the least expensive pieces are also the most unique ones.

We caught up with Marina on a particularly sunny and uncharacteristically warm winter day and loved her effortless chic style! Marina immediately caught our attention with her supermodel good looks and endless legs and we were very pleased to find out that the beauty is also brainy!

Who: Marina, 26, Architecture student

IMG_5066

Wore: Knit cardigan by Pull & Bear, sheer mint blouse by Forever 21, white top and mustard carryall by Studio Pasha, gray high waisted skirt by Twentyfourseven, multicolored sandals by Aldo, , and gold necklace and bracelet.

As a busy hard working student, Marina’s first concern when putting together an outfit for a full day of studying and working, is practicality. The girl makes it work!

Who will be our next Street Style Star??

Hello fashion darlings!

When considering what to wear for a day in the office there are so many considerations; indoor and outdoor weather, comfort, what kind of job you have, how your co-workers dress and so on.
The “easy” solution will always be trousers and a blouse, but what kind?
There are so many options for that combination alone that you could be standing dumbfounded in front of your closet for hours!

For this post we’re making the “easy” easier!
First step is deciding what kind of mood you are in and what impression you want to leave on your co-workers: If you’re feeling bold and want everyone to notice wear something bright and colorful!
If you’re going for the young and fresh look yet want to look like a professional, keep it a solid mix
If you’re feeling sexy but still want to have everyone’s respect- a sheer top will do the job! (with a top worn underneath of course!)

For a casual office look Rony wore blue skinny jeans, a sheer blouse, fitted vest, oxfords and an army green canvas bag. Rony accessorized with lots of silver jewelry to keep it interesting yet clean and practical.

The mix of the different items and the mix of feminine with masculine make this a casual office look that is young and natural.

Vera had a day full of important meetings and wanted to make a lasting impression on her co-workers and clients. For her elegant office look Vera wore a black chiffon set of trousers and blouse, red patent flats, an eye catching statement gold necklace and of course her signature haute geek glasses.

While the black set is masculine and stern, the sheer fabric makes it more soft and feminine.

No matter where you work and what you do it’s a proven fact that dressing nicely to work makes your day all the more fabulous! Or at least we believe so!

Have a very productive day!

Hello fellow fashionistas!

Us modern women are always busy – whether we juggle family, studies, work, supporting our men, a million errands and running a household and of course try to leave a little time for shopping. We don’t always have time to plan our outfits and really think about what to wear on certain occasions. What’s easier than wearing a matched set?! Minimum thought is required, 100% fabulousness achieved.

The return of 80’s and 90’s fashion brought back the perfectly matched sets. The modern take on this trend is much more exciting though: sets that are made effortlessly by putting together similar prints, colors, fabrics, etc. This goes hand in hand with the current fashion attitude of making the outfit all your own and letting your confidence and creativity shine.

Rony wore a sheer owl print chiffon blouse with sheer chiffon overlay shorts, gray fedora, gray peep toe booties, and leather satchel.

The matching fabrics and similar patterns and colors of the pieces Rony wore made this a perfect set and the masculine hat together with the ultra trendy booties made Rony’s outfit uber cool.

Vera wore a flannel button down shirt, turquoise denim skirt and green blazer with checkered All Stars.

Vera’s layered outfit is perfect for the in between seasons. While the jacket and skirt are all modern business woman, Vera’s slap-on-and-go shoes will make this outfit comfortable for any girl’s hectic day.

So when choosing what to wear for the busy day ahead of you we suggest using your creativity to put together your perfect set. One way you could always change it up and keep the matching interesting is with your makeup and nailpolish.
