Winter’s cold dreary days make us all want to stay at home and hide under the covers. As if to make matters worse, winter fashions often match our wintery moods and are mostly gray and black. We think that bright colored clothes, particularly fun bright colored dresses, are just what we need to chase the winter blues away!

The black wedges worn with black tights give the dress a classy elegant look and make Rony’s legs look extra long. The colorful jewelry compliments the bright color of the dress and makes it more playful and girly.

The denim jacket gives the whole look a hip and fresh twist. The moccasins and architectural accessories make the sexy Spanish-inspired dress more edgy and business-like.

This is actually a dress that Vera purchased many seasons ago and was able to wear during pregnancy as it was loose and oversized. Don’t forget that you can always keep old clothes relevant by rocking the right shoes and accessories!

Happy Thursday fellow fashionistas, it’s almost the weekend!
Being the girly girls we are, we love to offset our girly outfits with masculine pieces! Some of our favorites, especially in colder months, are blazers. What’s better in the midst of winter grayness than jackets that are colorful and attention-grabbing?!

Colorful blazers
Bright colored jackets are a bit more casual, which allows you to dress down a very dressy outfit and make it more day to day ready.

Here are some of our favorite colorful blazers:

Vera wore a bright green corduroy blazer with a cream dotted sheer blouse, denim button down skirt, gray tights, brogues, layers of silver jewelry and an oversized frog ring.

Vera’s blazer has a very Victorian feel, which nicely offsets her outfit’s retro and modern accents.

Rony wore a blue cropped blazer with a bright pink patterned cardigan, studded A-lined mini dress, print blue tights, leopard print platforms and lots of big rings.

Another way of wearing Rony’s outfit is by adding a waist cinching belt – making the look less loose and more put together.

We truly hope that spring has arrived to your home town because it surely hit ours!

The lovely warm weather and all the flowers that are blooming right now make us crave flowy dresses, hats and of course our favorite accessory- vests. So of course we decided to go boho chic on this post and show you how the look can be achieved.

Rony wore an  A-lined collar navy and white checkered dress. The layers of the dress along with the striped brownish gray vest looked fabulous on Rony and really flattered her shape. She wore nomad-like suede flat booties and a men’s straw panama hat. Sometimes it’s fun to steal from the boys, masculine accessories give feminine dresses a cool twist.

I wore a long floral dress sewn by none other than my mother and moi! The short puffy sleeves of the dress flatter my arms and the high waisted shape combined with the long length would give anyone a beautifully long silhouette. My strappy camel wedges probably helped with the long silhouette 🙂 But flats will look fabulous as well!

Oh the bohemian life… flowy dresses, cool jewelry, awesome music and art and a chilled lifestyle.. sound good? Sounds amazing to us!

So take a walk on the beach, enjoy the sand and the breeze and the sun! But don’t forget to stop for some refreshments in the hot weather!

Hello boys and girls!

Since we love animals so much we decided to dedicate a whole photoshoot to our cute little furry friends! What better way to show our love for animals than by wearing only faux fur and faux leather? Don’t worry, we feed and play with them as well! 🙂

You know those cool sleeveless cardigans and vests you didn’t get a chance to wear in winter? Well now that spring is in the air and summer is fast approaching it is the best time to wear them! No need for coats or big jackets anymore (Yay!!), furry vests are a great way to keep warm in the in between seasons or on chilly evenings.

Rony combined a camel faux leather skirt with a dark brown faux fur belted vest together with a puffy sleeved light blue shirt. She gave her outfit a color twist with a beautiful silky print scarf and two toned heels. As we all know it’s important to change up a color palette with some other bright color or print, just as Rony did with her scarf!

I wore a gray faux fur fluffy vest with a denim voluminous high waisted skirt and a pink kitten print shirt, my splash of color! And of course, what would a post about animals be without my leopard print tights?!

Our guest models in this post are the fabulous Teddy and Saki who enjoyed the warm spring sun with us.

So remember, a bit of color will brighten your outfit and your day and a bit of fur will keep you warm.

Since we all love animals please use only products with the little rabbit icon on them, it means they weren’t tested on animals.

We love being feminine, and being the girly girls we are, we can greatly appreciate a good skirt or dress.

However, there’s nothing sexier than a woman who can carry off a good pair of trousers, the more masculine the better.  Pants can be elegant and dressy in a very cool, non-obvious way.

What better way to display our pants than with an architectural, metropolitan backdrop?!

Unfortunately the strong wind knocked down my camera and we had no choice but to continue the photo shoot with our iPhones. But don’t despair! The fun continued as we played on the beautiful concrete sculptures.

Vera wore wide legged pants that with all the wind and volume looked like a very cool maxi skirt. She put together an edgy look with a striped top, gray vest, studded belt, ballerina flats, silver chain necklaces and a massive rhinestone ring.

I wore jockey-like balloon pants, one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing I own, with a button down shirt, high heeled oxfords, vintage Ray Bans, big rings, and peachy necklace and earrings.

While we did decide we wanted to post about some of our coolest trousers, we never agreed on color, and somehow we ended up coordinating our color palettes. What can we say, great minds think alike!

Hello fashionistas!

Shorts with tights: hot or not? We’ve heard different opinions.

We believe the following: if you’ve got it, flaunt it! Especially when it comes to legs, which Vera and I both have miles of. Shorts are a great way of showing off your legs, and why have to give that up in winter?!

For this reason exactly we decided to shoot outfits with some of our favorite shorts and prove that you can make them work in winter, and even make a very sophisticated look out of them!

Vera agreed with the park scenery in her flower petal green shorts which she wore with a yellow sweater, black suit jacket, gingham peep toe heels and a charm necklace.

I went for a color burst in my high waisted red vintage shorts worn with a white button down shirt, knit  kimono cardigan, moccasin wedges, patent bottle-green tote and gold and red-enamel earrings.

Keep us posted on what you think of this look and how you plan on keeping it hot while the weather is still cold.

Hello loves!

Our friend Mariana, a very busy Biology student who doesn’t have much time for shopping, complained to us that she doesn’t know how to wear and put together some of her favorite clothes. Vera and I came to the rescue and jumped at the opportunity to style someone other than ourselves 🙂

It turns out that Mariana has great closet staples, from skirts to tops, shoes to accessories. We just helped her put together the outfits and had a blast doing it. While usually conservative in her fashion choices, Mariana was the perfect subject and model! She was totally open to our suggestions and got creative with us, putting her own say into the outfits.

Lessons learned from this styling experience:

– Opposites do attract: big with small, flowy with tight, even opposite prints and colors.

– While we all go for the trend, the most important value of the outfit is that your personality shines through it and that you don’t become just a hanger.

– Dress for your body, not everything is flattering on everyone.

– Most importantly, fashion is all about being open minded, letting loose and having fun!

Purim is our favorite jewish holiday! We love to dress up and this year, as in previous ones, we celebrated in style!

I dressed up as Alice in Wonderland and I have to say this is one of my all time favorite costumes! Vera dressed up as a princess fairy and wore a tutu she sewed herself. Vera’s sister in law was an Indian in a green Sari which was very complementary to her red hair, and Vera’s cousin was the Pink Panther in an all pink outfit she sewed herself.

Happy Purim everyone!
