On the 2nd-3rd of January 2014, Israel will be launching the second annual Small Businesses Day. This is an initiative encouraging people to support and shop at small businesses with the intent of helping these businesses flourish and significantly increasing their sales. Businesses that participate in this initiative get significant exposure to potential clients which allows them to offer special sales and promotions. The consumers are then encouraged to buy more at these businesses, and everyone is happy! In addition, on this occasion businesses have the opportunity to win a business promotion package and even to win 30,000 NIS to help launch their business (More details about these business opportunities here).

As two women who always prefer shopping for unique pieces in small boutiques and local designers, we are more than happy to support this initiative. For this occasion we decided to post about one of our favorite small businesses, AriVersa Jewelry.

20111107-20111107-dsc_0470

AriVersa, by his real name Arie, designs and hand makes unique and sophisticated jewelry out of gold, silver and precious stones. Arie’s studio and workshop are based in his home and most of his clients hear about him through word of mouth and through jewelry workshop experts.
Besides being a great designer, Arie specializes in unique stone inlaying and setting techniques and has impressive craftsmanship abilities that have brought a lot of attention to his work.
We first encountered Arie’s work as students in design school; many jewelry design students came to Arie for guidance and mentorship in their studies.

20111107-20111107-dsc_0428

This is one designer who was not educated in design, he comes from a background in Engineering and a health issue made it very difficult to continue his work as an Engineer.
In his search for hobbies and new interests to keep himself occupied he came across a beginners’ jewelry making course, and the rest is history.
He loved learning about the craftsmanship behind the design and developed his skills further and further until he was ready to open his own studio and share his talent with the world.

Arie’s pieces are very diverse, from hi-tech modern jewelry to classic style pieces. He is inspired by everything around him, from nature to urban life to creating precious jewelry that women can incorporate into their everyday lives. Like a true engineer, he always tries to invent new methods of working the materials and experiments with new technologies of jewelry making.

This is what drew us to Arie’s work; he is so technically skilled and his work is so accurate that he is nearly unmatched in his field.

His clients know that any piece they purchase will be created with the finest materials and in the highest quality.

You may remember Arie’s jewelry from a previous post we published, where we used the lavish jewels to create luxe looks!

When getting dressed in winter the first priority is to keep warm. Well, our first priority is to manage to stay fashionable while keeping warm. Therefore, our number one must have item in cold weather is a fabulous sweater!

IMG_10761

IMG_10752

Both of us hardly have time for shopping, which is why we love online shopping! We recently discovered Everbuying.com, an awesome online shopping website which has a wonderful selection of chic and warm sweaters to choose from, as well as any other winter must haves you may be looking for. The best part of this website is that their fashionable merchandise comes in very low prices and free shipping! Now that’s our kind of fuss free shopping experience!

Christmas is right around the corner; every year the holiday season brings with it fabulous knits with adorable motifs, from the heart print to animal patterns. The thing about these cutesy sweaters is that we feel the need to dress them up so that we can wear them everywhere, from the office to the weekend. A great way to do so is by layering them and piling on the accessories.

IMG_10491

We picked out Everbuying.com‘s Rabbit Pattern Sweater, which is warm, chic and adorable!

IMG_6494

Rony dressed up the sweater by wearing it over a patterned tunic, leggings, thigh high boots, a statement Perspex and stones necklace and big rings.

Vera made her adorable hearts print sweater more sophisticated by layering it over a polo shirtdress and putting it together with a silk scarf, knit tights and brown flats.

IMG_10811 IMG_10801***Styling tip*** Play up your silk scarf by tying it into a bow. It makes the look more interesting and hip!

IMG_11361

We like our sweaters a bit oversized so that they can be piled over shirts and dresses for a chic layered look. More ideas on how to style oversized sweaters here.

We love being girls and we love being girly girls and dressing the part! We can also, however, really appreciate a sexy masculine look.

While we’ve explored the masculine power dressing before – see post here and here – this time we decided to unleash our inner bad boys, with a little biker chic, a lot of classic Black+White and a whole lot of winter must haves!

IMG_64601

Our inspiration for this post was Diane Keaton’s effortless elegance as Annie Hall in Woody Allen’s 1977 film.

***Pregnancy styling tip*** When pregnant, all you want to wear are leggings, but that doesn’t mean you have to look like you’re going to the gym! Style up your leggings with a nice blouse, cardigan, and lots of fabulous accessories.

Rony wore a white button down blouse and pleather shorts over tights, embroidered vintage vest, wide brimmed hat, leather ankle boots and layered necklaces.

***Styling tip*** Wearing a high waisted cut and black tights makes your legs look super long and sexy!

Hats are very big right now and are the perfect way to add a bit of a hip twist to your outfit.

Capes were all the rage in the fall collections, and for good reason; what’s more fun than feeling like storybook heroines while braving the rain and the cold?!

We decided to give capes a go in one of our favorite colors – Red. Red is a very powerful, feminine, eye-catching color; exactly the kind of mood lifting color we need for those dreary cold winter days!

IMG_06601

Rony wore a hooded Urban Outfitters cape with an Asos faux fur stole.

IMG_08282

Under the cozy coverup she wore a button down feather print blouse, print skirt, rhinestones necklace, earrings, rings and cuff, and Steve Madden velvet peep toe wedges.

Rony’s faux fur and piles of accessories made this outfit lavish and fit to impress.

Vera wore a knit turtleneck cape.

IMG_08461

Under her cozy coverup she wore an asymmetrical top, velvet leggings, blush red flats and a gold geometric necklace.

IMG_08551 IMG_08561 IMG_08582 IMG_08641

The great thing about Vera’s cape is its versatility: it can be worn as a cape or a scarf and create different looks.

Velvet is coming back in a big way this season. We suggest wearing little touches of velvet here and there for a cool wintery effect.

One of our fun joys in life is makeup. We love playing around with it as much as we love playing with our outfits. Being the busy girls we are, our makeup routine is usually very basic. We recently received a wonderful gift: the book Makeup is Art by the Academy of Freelance Makeup, a book filled with amazing ideas and inspirations. We decided to take this opportunity and really get inspired and explore looks we don’t usually wear.

IMG_6448

Vera went for earthly tones of brown, gold and light pink. These are the perfect makeup colors for fall and they beautifully compliment her red cape.

IMG_08701

IMG_08522

Rony decided to mix colors and went for turquoise and antique pink on her eyes and bright pink on her lips. These colors bring out Rony’s brown eyes and give her outfit an edgy flair.

Along with the fabulous book, we also received a massive package of Joy treats (oh the perks of being fashion bloggers). Joy treats are a new product launched and manufactured by Strauss Group, an international food and beverage company based in Israel.

IMG_6447

The idea behind “Joy” is to give consumers just that – a big joy they can enjoy for breakfast, on their break at work, or when they get home from a busy and exhausting day. The treats come in awesome flavors (our favorite is the chocolate with coconut bits) which include fruit chunks and chocolate sprinkles and other delicacies.

Strauss also launched a Joy %0 fat treat so we can enjoy all that chocolaty taste without feeling guilty.

IMG_10291What we like to enJOY when we get home: Fashion magazines and Joy treats!

IMG_10331Besides fashion, sweets are definitely some of our greatest joys in life, especially when they come packaged in such pretty fall colors! Yes, we see fashion in everything!

More tips for makeup that can transition from day to evening here and here.
