Eighties Babies

Now that Vera is a mommy (what a MILF), we’ve been getting very nostalgic about our childhoods and how our mothers used to be, and how they used to dress. We love digging up old photos of our mothers and seeing how glamorous and stylish they were, and still are today.

Since we were born in the eighties, we decided to do a post inspired by eighties fashion, and how it can be relevant today.

Rony wore a vintage velvet and leather top with pleather leggings, peep toe wedges, a turban, and piled on the jewelry.

Rony’s look is very bold and fierce so to keep it from looking too over the top she added some oriental inspired touches, like the turban and the hand-made coral bracelet she got in Thailand.

Good styling is all about proportions. The big broad shoulders and masculine cut of Rony’s top goes best with a skinny proportion on the bottom. Adding a waist cinching belt gives the top a feminine, sexy touch.

Vera wore a colorful print sweater, patterned hip hugging skirt, patterned tights, leather moccasins, and oversized earrings.

Next time, instead of wearing plain black tights mix it up with patterned ones to make the outfit more bold, interesting, and fun.

In case you hadn’t noticed, Vera’s post baby makeover included a fabulous new haircut, which actually suited our 80’s theme perfectly!

Our outfits included items that we so happily inherited from our mothers’ wardrobes: Vera’s statement earrings and Rony’s bold top.
